I’m not a big NFL fan. I don’t have a favorite team.
My husband on the other hand is a HUGE Oakland Raiders fan…since…well forever! lol
Several years passed before I could even follow a game. I get into it now and then. It’s fun.
This season there’s been a change compared to last season, or any other season I’ve witnessed in my many moons w/the hubby. Tim Tebow. Yep. That’s right. He has added a whole new topic to the sports commentaries and sports shows.
Planking has now been replaced with “Tebowing.” Seriously, it’s sweeping the nation! There’s even a website dedicated to showcasing pictures of people “Tebowing.”
What is “Tebowing?” Well, Tim Tebow is a born again Christian and he’s not ashamed to show it or talk about it. He regularly prays before the game, during the game, and after the game…as the picture above shows. That is his usual stance while doing so. I wish more Christian athletes were as bold. I wish I were as bold!
Along with millions of other people, my husband and I were watching the Denver Broncos play against the Pittsburg Steelers today. Well, it was looking as though the Broncos, Tim Tebow’s team, were losing their lead. Then it got tied. Well, you can not end a play off game in a tie. It went to sudden death overtime. I don’t know all the play names or anything, but I can tell you this…Tim Tebow, the quarter back in case you didn’t know, threw a nice long pass to the receiver and that receiver ran as fast as his legs would carry him and scored right out of the gate! It had to be one of the best plays I’ve ever witnessed!
Of course everyone was excited. The Broncos were the underdog in this game. It was the talk of Facebook and of course all the evening sports commentaries.
So, my good thing today…Enjoying the game with my husband and seeing all the “Tebowing” going on after the game, Tim’s moment included. Awesome to hear the name of the Lord being proclaimed and discussed during an NFL show. I’m sure He hasn’t been discussed this much in that arena in a very very long time.
